Bowie, MD (March 24, 2026) - The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have announced their break camp roster for the 2026 season.
The roster includes five top 30 Orioles prospects, including a pair in the top 10, according to MLB Pipeline.
Headlining the position player group is INF Aron Estrada. The No. 9 Orioles’ prospect, via MLB Pipeline, Estrada returns to Chesapeake, where he spent the final 27 games of last season. Estrada hit .300 for the Baysox with five home runs and 13 RBI. Between Chesapeake and High-A Aberdeen, Estrada posted a .288 average in 108 games with 10 home runs, 53 RBI and 34 stolen bases. Still just 21-years-old, Estrada was a non-roster invitee to Orioles Spring Training this year, where he went 2-for-7 at the plate in five games.
A pair of additional top 30 prospects in C Ethan Anderson (No. 26) and INF Griff O’Ferrall (No. 29) also lead the Baysox position player group. Anderson shined this offseason in the Arizona Fall League, where he hit .300 in 19 games with eight doubles – second-most in the league.
A second-round pick of the Orioles from 2024 out of University of Virginia, Anderson was promoted to Chesapeake in August of 2025. He ended his season with the Baysox strong, finishing 10 for his last 35 (.286).
O’Ferrall returns to the Baysox after playing his final 10 games of 2025 with Chesapeake, going 9-for-36 at the plate. O’Ferrall swiped 42 bags in 111 games with High-A Aberdeen last season. He was also teammates at the University of Virginia with Anderson and is a fellow member of the 2024 Orioles draft class, where he was taken 32nd overall by Baltimore.
Other returners to the position player group include C Adam Retzbach, INF Frederick Bencosme, INF Brandon Butterworth, INF/OF Tavian Josenberger, INF Carter Young, OF Doug Hodo, and OF Thomas Sosa (No. 20).
New position players listed include INF Anderson De Los Santos and INF Fernando Peguero.
On the mound, LHP Luis De León (No. 4) returns after three starts with the Baysox at the end of the 2025 season. De León allowed three earned runs across 16 innings (1.69 ERA) with Chesapeake, while striking out 24 batters. Across three levels, De León pitched to a 3.30 ERA in 87.1 innings, continuing his success into the Arizona Fall League, where he posted a 2.76 ERA in 16.1 innings and tallied the third-most strikeouts (22) in the league. De León appeared in two Grapefruit League games this spring for the Orioles and did not allow a run.
RHP Tyson Neighbors (No. 17) is set to help anchor the Baysox bullpen. Acquired by the Orioles from the Padres organization in July, Neighbors finished his 2025 campaign with Chesapeake, allowing just a single run in 12 appearances (15.1 innings).
Other returning pitchers include LHP Micah Ashman, along with RHPs Zane Barnhart, Trace Bright, Christian Herberholz, Ryan Long, Blake Money, Gerald Ogando, Alex Pham, Yaqui Rivera, and Carlos Tavera.
Eight new pitchers are listed on the roster in LHPs Sebastian Gongora and Eric Torres, in addition to RHPs Jeisson Cabrera and Jean Carlos Henriquez.
The 28-man break camp roster includes a total of 16 pitchers and 12 position players. It features 22 returners and six newcomers.
