Patriots Rally For Walk-Off Win

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (5-5, 49-30) won 3-2 on a walk-off over the Bowie Baysox (6-4, 33-46) before 5,541 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.

After being held scoreless through eight innings, Jeisson Rosario doubled in Elijah Dunham before Brandon Lockridge and Rosario scored on a Blake Perkins fielder’s choice and error in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Patriots the win.

J.D. Mundy brought home Joseph Ortiz on a sacrifice fly in the top of the second for the first run of the game.

Cesar Prieto added a second run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single to right field that scored Connor Norby.

Carson Coleman (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings and struck out three hitters to earn the win. Shelton Perkins (0-4) suffered the loss after he allowed three runs (one earned) in the ninth inning.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday, July 9 with a 7:05 pm game against the Baysox at TD Bank Ballpark.
