Patriots Rally Late For Win Over Sea Dogs

Bridgewater, New Jersey- The Somerset Patriots (53-35) came from behind to defeat the Portland Sea Dogs (52-35) 6-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.

A five-run seventh inning erased an early deficit for the Patriots. Thomas Milone’s two-run double grabbed the lead before Josh Breaux unloaded on the first pitch of his at bat for a three-run homer (2).

Jhony Brito (W, 2-1) was once again sharp after two unearned runs came home in the first. He scattered five hits and struck out seven in his seven innings of work.

Dominic LoBrutto (L, 2-2) took the loss as he allowed three earned runs on a hit in 0.1 innings pitched.

Michael Beltre racked up three hits, a run scored and a stolen base on the night.

Somerset and Portland will conclude the series at TD Bank Ballpark with a 5:05 pm game on Sunday evening.
