Patriots Shut Out Flying Squirrels On Father’s Day

Bridgewater, New Jersey- The Somerset **Patriots* (27-14) were able to quiet the *Richmond Flying Squirrels** (22-20) and close out the series with a 4-0 victory before 6,839 fans celebrating Father’s Day at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

The Patriots broke up the pitcher’s duel with two runs in the sixth. Oswald Peraza came through with a base hit down the left field line and a run scored on an error.

Luke Voit continued to show off his big-league swing with two more runs in the seventh inning on a two-out single up the middle.

Glenn Otto(W, 4-2) struck out five over six scoreless innings of work for his fourth win of the season.

The Patriots now travel to play the second place Portland Sea D**ogs **(Boston Red Sox) on Tuesday night. First pitch will be at 7:05 pm at Hadlock Field.
