The Pawtucket Red Sox had three straight sellout crowds at McCoy Stadium this weekend - the second time they have done so in as many months (July 1, 2, and 3 the other). However, this time the 31,639 fans who poured into McCoy the past three days represented their largest August weekend attendance total in 7 years since August of 2010.
The PawSox drew 31,639 fans over the past three games with sellout crowds of 10,059 on Friday, 11,515 on Saturday, and 10,065 on Sunday - with Sunday's crowd the 10th sellout of the season (compared to 5 all of last year). The PawSox had not had a 3-game August weekend with more than 30,000 fans since August 13-15 of 2010 when a total of 32,378 fans attended those three games at McCoy.
