LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, pitcher Eric Pardinho has been assigned to the Lansing Lugnuts from Rookie-level Gulf Coast League while pitcher Mike Pascoe has been transferred to Short-Season A Vancouver.

Pardinho, 18, was signed to a $1.4 million contract on July 2, 2017, making him the highest paid Brazilian free agent in baseball history. In 2018, at the age of 17, he posted a 2.88 ERA in 11 starts with Advanced Rookie Bluefield, striking out 64 batters while walking 16 in 50 innings. He is currently ranked MLB.com's No. 4 Blue Jays prospect, the second-best pitching prospect in the organization behind only Nate Pearson, and the No. 99 prospect in all of Minor League Baseball.

 

Pardinho will start tonight in Midland, Mich., against the Great Lakes Loons at 7:05 p.m., the first of two road games for the Lugnuts (4-7, 36-44) before they return to host the Loons with back-to-back LAFCU Fireworks nights on the 4th and 5th of July, first pitches at 6:35 p.m. for each night.
