Pigs Look To Take Series From Red Wings

The IronPigs (52-31) and Rochester Red Wings (43-37) conclude their four-game series tonight at Coca-Cola Park. Postgame 3-D Fireworks will light up the sky at Coca-Cola Park tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

LHP Cesar Ramos makes his ninth start and 21^st overall appearance for the Pigs tonight. In his last outing, the Los Angeles native took the loss as he tossed five innings, surrendering seven runs on 11 hits.
RHP Aaron Slegers makes his 15^th start of the season for the Red Wings after picking up the win in his last three starts. In his last outing on June 26^th, the right-hander tossed five innings in game two of the doubleheader against the Buffalo Bisons, surrendering two runs on seven hits and fanned four.
Scott Kingery  launched a two-run home run, J.P. Crawford  hit a solo shot and Brandon Leibrandt  picked up his first Triple-A win as the IronPigs (52-31) defeated the Rochester Red Wings (43-37) Sunday night 3-0 at Coca-Cola Park before 10,100 fans. It was the ninth capacity sellout at Coca-Cola Park this season.
The Pigs picked up their league-best 11^th shutout victory with the blanking of the Red Wings and with the win guarantee at least a split of the series.
After four scoreless innings, Kingery unloaded on a 1-0 pitch and sent it 382 feet to left field, landing on top of the Tiki Terrace to give the Pigs a 2-0 lead. Pedro Florimón  led off the frame with a base hit to left and was scored on Kingery's two-run bomb. For Kingery, the home run was his Minor League leading 22^nd home run of the season combined between Double and Triple-A levels.
Then in the bottom of the eighth inning Crawford got in on the fun, as the Phillies top prospect hit a solo home run to right field to givfe the Pigs a 3-0 lead. For Crawford, the home run was his first since May 27 against the Louisville Bats at Coca-Cola Park.
The shortstop has now hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, batting .296 (16-54) with the homer, five doubles, and two triples.
Not to be outdone by his offense, Pigs starting pitcher Brandon Leibrandt pitched a gem. The southpaw picked up his first Triple-A win in just his second start, tossing six scoreless innings while surrendering five hits and fanning four batters.
Leibrandt then gave way to the bullpen as Michael Mariot , Jesen Therrien  and Pedro Beato  each tossed scoreless innings without issuing a hit.
Mariot came on in the seventh inning and did not issue a base runner, as the Southlake, TX native notched his seventh hold of the season, placing him in a tie for third place in the International League.
Therrien then came on to pitch the eighth, picking up his second hold of the season with the Pigs before giving way to Beato to close out the game.
Beato, the International League leader in saves, added his 23^rd save of the season as the right-hander also did not issue a base runner. Beato struck out ByungHo Park to begin the final frame, and then induced a Niko Goodrum  fly out to left before popping up Red Wings catcher John Ryan Murphy  to end the game.
With the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders win tonight over Pawtucket, the Pigs keep a 1.5 game lead over the RailRiders in the International League's North Division.
