‘Pigs Walked-Off On by Mets

Syracuse, New York (September 19, 2026) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (32-40, 67-80) suffered their sixth-straight loss as they were walked-off on by the Syracuse Mets (42-30, 80-67) in a 5-4 final on Saturday night at NBT Bank Stadium.

The Mets started the scoring with a bang as Zack Short cleared the bases for a three-run double in the second inning.

The ‘Pigs hit the comeback trail, starting with a Wuilfredo Antunez solo homer in the third before a Keaton Anthony bases loaded walk and Carter Kieboom sacrifice fly tied the game in the fifth.

The game stayed tied at the 3-3 until the ninth. The ‘Pigs took their first lead of the night on a Keaton Anthony sacrifice fly, but D’Andre Smith belted a walk-off two-run homer in the last of the ninth to win the game for the Mets.

Chayce McDermott (W, 3-1) was credited the win for the Mets after pitching the top of the ninth while Grant Holman (L, 3-1) suffered the loss for the ‘Pigs after allowing Smith’s homer.

The ‘Pigs and Mets conclude their series and the 2026 season on Sunday, September 20th with first pitch slated for 1:05 p.m. at NBT Bank Stadium. Both teams have yet to announce a starter.
