DUNEDIN, FL – Three pitchers combined to deal a two-hit shutout as the Clearwater Threshers (44-21) ended the first half with a 1-0 victory over the Dunedin Blue Jays on Thursday night. The Threshers and Blue Jays continue their series in the first game of the second half on Friday evening.

Emaarion Boyd led off the game by drawing a four-pitch walk from Blue Jays starter Pat Gallagher. On a hit-and-run, Justin Crawford moved Boyd to third on a single to right field. Bryan Rincon drove in Boyd on a grounder to short to put the Threshers ahead 1-0.

The Threshers pitching staff allowed just two hits in the game, with singles in the second and third innings for the Blue Jays. Only one runner made it into scoring position following an eighth-inning walk to Jaden Rudd. Andrew Walling threw the final 2.0 frames for Clearwater, striking out four of the final five batters to seal a 1-0 win for the Threshers.

Samuel Aldegheri tossed 4.0 shutout innings with two hits, three walks, and three strikeouts in a no-decision. Braeden Fausnaught (1-1) did not allow a hit or a run in 2.0 frames with one walk and three strikeouts to get the win. Walling earned a six-out save with five strikeouts and a walk in 2.0 shutout innings.
