Summary
Binghamton's Matt Oberste clocked a leadoff homer in the 6th inning to snap a tie-game and ultimately lead the Rumble Ponies to a 5-4 win over the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton, New York.

Turning Point
After the RubberDucks tied the game, 4-4, in the top of the 6th on a two-run double by Mark Mathias, Oberste crushed a 1-0 pitch from Michael Peoples (1-2) over the left field fence to give the Ponies a 5-4 lead. It was Oberste's second homer of the year.

Winging It
Peoples faced one more hitter after the Oberste homer, walking Kevin Kaczmarski, before being lifted. Peoples allowed five runs on eight hits, including three homers. David Speer came on and tossed two scoreless innings, and Dylan Baker tossed a scoreless ninth. The Akron bullpen has now worked 21.1 innings on the road trip and allowed just two runs. Binghamton's Corey Taylor (2-2) was credited with the win despite giving up the Mathias double in the sixth. Al Baldonado struck out the side in the ninth for his third save.

Duck Tales
Todd Hankins socked a leadoff home run in the first inning off Ponies starter Donovan Hand. Yu Chang added an RBI single in the first to give Akron a 2-0 lead.  Chang finished 3-4 on the night. Mathias made his 2017 debut after being activated from the DL Monday. He blasted a two-out, two-run double to center field off Taylor in the sixth to briefly tie the game, 4-4.
