Portland shutout 2-0 in Hartford on Wednesday

Hartford, CT - The Hartford Yard Goats (13-14) grabbed the rubber game of a three-game set from the Portland Sea Dogs (7-14), 2-0 on Wednesday morning at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Portland dropped the final two games of the series and went 3-3 on their six-game trip.

Ashton Goudeau (W, 2-1) extended his scoreless streak to 23 innings, tossing seven innings on just two hits and fanned eighth. Goudeau was perfect in five of seven innings and faced the minimum 21 batters. 
Hartford closed out the game with a perfect eighth from Phillip Diehl, and Ben Bowden earned his seventh save by stranding two in the ninth.
Kyle Hart (L, 1-4) gave up both runs on five hits, four walks, and six strikeouts.
The Yard Goats scored both runs with two outs in the sixth inning against Hart. Tyler Nevin doubled and scored on a single by Tyler Fernandez. Late in the inning, Adam Lau's wild pitch brought home, Fernandez.
Portland put two on in the ninth inning, but Balder retired Marcus Wilson and Brett Netzer to end the game.
The Sea Dogs open up a six-game series in four days with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets affiliate) on Thursday night beginning at 6:00 PM from Hadlock Field. RHP Denyi Reyes (0-3, 6.87) makes his fifth start for Portland. Binghamton counters with lefty Anthony Kay (1-2, 1.85).
