Flying Squirrels Jump to Early Lead, Cruise to 7-2 Win Over Senators

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Aug. 13, 2026) — The Flying Squirrels took a 3-0 lead over the Senators in the first inning Thursday night, cruising on to a 7-2 win. The series is now even at two games apiece.
Harrisburg scored its two runs on seven hits and stranded 11 men on base in the loss. The Sens committed four errors.
Richmond placed five straight runners on base in the first on four hits and an error, taking the early 3-0 lead against RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (L, 0-3).
Another run scored in the second on Sabin Ceballos' second RBI single of the night to lead 4-0.
The Senators got a run back in the bottom of the second. Elijah Green ripped a 112-mile-per-hour double to centerfield to lead off the inning. With one out, Caleb Lomavita hit a bloop single to right to score Green and cut the deficit to 4-1.
Tejeda held the score by stranding two runners on base in the third. The right-hander went three innings, allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
The Flying Squirrels scored another unearned run in the fourth on RHP Kyle Luckham. After a two-out triple, Ceballos hit a groundball to short, but Devin Fitz-Gerald threw the ball away and a run scored to stretch the lead to 5-1.
Then Richmond added another run in the fifth on Jancel Villarroel's RBI single to lead 6-1.
After a scoreless sixth inning, Luckham went three innings in relief. He allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits, no walks and a strikeout.
RHP Ben Grable tossed a scoreless seventh inning. RHP Joe Glassey followed with a one-two-three eighth inning.
Both men have thrown four scoreless outings since joining the Senators.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh but could not score. The Sens got their second run in the eighth on Lomavita's sac fly to score Green, cutting the Squirrels lead to 6-2.
Richmond got the run back in the ninth against RHP Kendeglys Virguez. Sabin Ceballos' third RBI single of the night made the lead 7-2.
The Senators loaded the bases with two outs again in the ninth but could not push across a run, ending the game 7-2.
Game five of the series comes Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
