RubberDucks Walk Off Senators in Series Opener, Win 8-6 in 10 Innings

Harrisburg tied the game 6-6 in the ninth but could not score in the 10th, and the 'Ducks walked off the game in the bottom of the inning on Dean Curley's two-run homer to win 8-6.
The Sens took an early 2-0 lead in the first. Branden Boissiere drove in Nick Mitchell with a sac fly. Elijah Green followed with a sac fly to score Devin Fitz-Gerald.
The RubberDucks got a run back right away. Ryan Cesarini homered on the first pitch from LHP Alex Clemmey to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Senators loaded the bases in the second but did not score.
In the third, after Green drew a walk to open the inning, Ethan Petry hit a two-run homer that just cleared the rightfield wall to lead 4-1.
Akron cut the lead to 4-3 after Bennett Thompson's two-out, two-RBI double in the fourth.
Then the RubberDucks took the lead in the fifth. With runners on second and third and two out, Aaron Walton hit a three-run homer off the centerfield batter's eye to put Akron in front 6-4.
Clemmey left after 4.2 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, five walks and three strikeouts.
Harrisburg answered with a run in the sixth when Boissiere drove in Kervin Pichardo with a two-out bloop single. The Sens trailed 6-5.
The Senators bullpen held the score.
RHP Sandy Gaston tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in relief, striking out three. He stranded two in scoring position to end the sixth.
RHP Ben Grable followed with a scoreless seventh inning, allowing a hit and striking out two.
In the eighth, RHP Joe Glassey retired the side in order on only seven pitches.
Grable and Glassey have each thrown five scoreless outings since joining Harrisburg.
In the ninth, still trailing 6-5, Boissiere doubled down the leftfield line to lead off the inning. Devin Ortiz came on as a pinch runner.
With one out, Petry singled through the drawn-in infield to score Ortiz and tie the game 6-6.
Petry's driven in 13 runs in his last six games played.
RHP Luke Young forced extra innings with a one-two-three ninth. He struck out one.
The Sens did not advance the placed runner in the 10th inning.
RHP Robert Cranz (3-2) came on for the bottom of the inning. After striking out the first two hitters, Curley homered to walk off the game for an 8-6 Akron win.
Harrisburg is back at it Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. RHP Josh Randall (4-5) has the start.
