HARRISBURG, Pa. (Aug. 27, 2026) — The Senators and Baysox played another tight game Thursday night. Chesapeake took a 2-0 lead in the fifth and held that lead until the game was called due to rain in the top of the seventh, winning the rain-shortened game 2-0.
In the first inning, Harrisburg loaded the bases on two hits and a walk against the Baysox' Anthony Eyanson, but the right-hander got out of trouble with a strikeout.
The Sens left seven men on base across the first four innings.
LHP Josh Hartle worked through traffic for four scoreless innings. He scattered three hits and four walks while striking out seven.
Chesapeake took the lead on Ethan Anderson's two-run homer in the fifth off RHP Luke Young (L, 3-1).
RHP Eriq Swan, in his return to Double-A, retired the side in order in the sixth. He struck out one.
The Baysox still led 2-0 with the game moving on to the seventh. RHP Robert Cranz came on in relief in the seventh. After throwing three pitches, the game entered a weather delay, and the tarp went on the field.
The game was called following a 39-minute delay, and the Baysox won 2-0.
The Senators aim to even the series back up Friday night at 7:00 p.m. RHP Thomas Schultz (3-5) is slated to start.
