BOWIE, Md. (Aug. 7, 2026) — The Senators tallied nine hits through the first four innings but could not score until late, falling to the Baysox 5-2 Friday night. Harrisburg left 13 runners on base in the loss, going just 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
Chesapeake took the lead in the first inning after Wehiwa Aloy drew a two-out walk off RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (0-2). The next hitter, Thomas Sosa, hit a bloop fly ball to shallow left-centerfield. Elijah Green chased from deep center, nearly making the catch, but it hit off his glove and fell in for a double to score Aloy for the 1-0 lead.
In the second, the Sens loaded the bases on three straight one-out hits from Ethan Petry, Sam Brown and Elijah Green. A double play ended the threat.
In the fourth, Harrisburg put men on second and third with no outs after hits from Petry and Brown and an error but once again could not score.
The Baysox plated three runs in the fifth off Tejeda and one run in the sixth off RHP Blake Brown to stretch the lead to 5-0.
Tejeda went 5.1 innings, allowing the four runs on five hits, two walks and five strikeouts. Brown allowed a run in 0.2 innings on two hits and a walk.
RHP Joe Glassey tossed a scoreless frame in the seventh, working around an error with three strikeouts.
The Senators scored their first run in the eighth. With one out, Brown singled and Green drew a walk. The runners advanced to second and third on a balk.
Devin Ortiz hit a warning-track sac fly to left to score Brown and cut the deficit to 5-1.
Sam Brown went 4-for-4 with a double and run scored. It was his second career four-hit game with the Sens.
RHP Kyle Luckham retired the side in order in the eighth with one strikeout.
Harrisburg plated its second run in the ninth. In a scary play to start the inning, Chesapeake's Tyson Neighbors hit Devin Fitz-Gerald in the head with a pitch. Fitz-Gerald walked off the field under his own power.
Cortland Lawson pinch-ran, advancing to third on two wild pitched. Kervin Pichardo drew a one-out walk for men on the corners.
Caleb Lomavita hit a sac fly to left to drive in Lawson, and the Sens trailed 5-2.
Ethan Petry flied out to the leftfield wall to end the game.
The Sens look to tie the series back up Saturday at 6:35 p.m. The starter is to be announced.
