Senators Fall in Home Finale, Curve Win 8-4

RHP Jarlin Susana (L, 0-1) retired the side in order in the first and struck out two before trouble hit in the next inning.
In the second, two hit batsmen and three walks scored two runs for Altoona without a hit. Susana also struck out three in the inning.
The Curve added another run on Javier Rivas' solo homer to lead off the fourth. The Sens trailed 3-0.
In the bottom of the fourth with one on and two out, Ethan Petry blasted a two-run homer to deep left-centerfield to cut the deficit to 3-2.
But Altoona responded with two runs in the sixth, one in the eighth and another two in the ninth, stretching the lead to 8-2.
RHP Josiah Gray pitched his third scoreless rehab appearance of the week with 0.2 innings.
RHP Robert Cranz worked a scoreless sixth with two strikeouts.
RHP Jhancarlos Lara retired the side in order in the seventh.
Trailing 8-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Kervin Pichardo singled with one out. Then Edgardo Figueroa came on as a pinch hitter, making his Double-A debut after spending time on the Development List.
Figueroa tripled to right-centerfield to score Pichardo. He is the third youngest player in the Senators' modern era (since 1987), behind only Bryce Harper and Luis García Jr.
A Nick Mitchell groundball to short scored Figueroa and brought the Curve lead to 8-4.
The Senators are in action for one final six-game series in 2026, heading to New Hampshire to take on the Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays). The series start Tuesday, Sept. 8, 6:03 p.m.
