Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Quakes rallied from a five-run deficit on Friday night, but a six-run ninth put Inland Empire ahead to stay, as the 66ers earned an 11-6 win at LoanMart Field.

Rancho reliever Connor Godwin had a tough ninth inning, as the 66ers got him for all six runs, on their way to their third straight win in the series.

Trailing 5-0, Rancho got back-to-back homers from Jaron Elkins (7) and Samuel Munoz (9), making it 5-3 in the fifth. The Quakes then tied it in the sixth, as a sac fly from Mairo Martinus and a two-out RBI hit from Jose Meza evened the game at 5-5.

In the ninth Godwin (2-3) loaded the bases with no outs and gave up a two-run single to Jorge Ruiz, giving Inland the lead for good at 7-5. They’d add four more to take a commanding 11-5 lead.

The Quakes got a run in the ninth off Will Gervase (1-1), but Benny Thompson came on to get the final two outs to close it down.

The Quakes (7-12, 48-37) will send Sterling Patick (1-3) to the hill on Saturday night, as he’ll take on Chris Clark (1-7) at 6:30pm. Everyone will enjoy post-game Fireworks on Saturday, thanks to Fiore Legal.

Game time is 6:30pm and gates open at 5:30pm. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
