Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Inland Empire 66ers closed out their fifth straight win at LoanMart Field on Sunday afternoon, scoring three times in the ninth for an 8-7 win over the Quakes.
Raudi Rodriguez had three hits, including the go-ahead RBI single in the ninth, helping Inland Empire to five of six in the series, sending Rancho to a fifth straight loss entering the All-Star Break.
The 66ers had leads of 1-0, 3-1, 4-3 and 5-4, only to see the Quakes come back and tie the game on four different occasions.
Tied at 5-5 in the ninth against Dilan Figueredo (0-2), Rodriguez gave the 66ers a 6-5 advantage, then scored as part of a throwing error that plated two additional runs, as Inland took an 8-5 lead.
Oswaldo Osorio clubbed his first homer of the year, a two-run shot with a man aboard with two outs in the ninth, as the Quakes pulled to within a run against Jaren Warwick.
Warwick (1-6) recovered though, getting Eduardo Guerrero to ground out to end the game.
Rancho (7-14, 48-39) enters the All-Star Break on a five-game losing streak, but will return on Friday, July 18 in Lake Elsinore, where they open a three-game set against the Storm at 6:45pm.
The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, July 22 at 6:30pm, as they host Visalia in a six-game series. Tuesday the 22nd will be Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday, as fans can visit the website to learn how to score a FREE Club Seat Ticket. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
