The Tacoma pitching staff put together a terrific day on the mound and was led by starter Rob Whalen (6-3). Whalen allowed two runs across five innings and was followed by four scoreless innings from right handers Ryan Garton and Tyler Higgins as well as left hander Ross Detwiler. u1:pu1:p

Left fielder Jayson Werth (2x3, R, 2 2B) and right fielder John Andreoli (1x3, RBI) powered the Rainiers offense during the final game of the homestand.u1:p
Werth launched his first of two doubles on the afternoon during the fourth inning and scored two batters later when Andreoli lined an RBI single to left to make it 1-0 Tacoma.u1:p
Salt Lake took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth on Jose Miguel Fernandez's two-RBI single to center field.u1:p
The Rainiers enjoy an off-day Monday before returning to action at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday to open a three-game series with the Memphis Redbirds. Right hander Casey Lawrence (3-2, 3.64) will get the start for Tacoma and righty John Gant (4-0, 2.40) will be on the hill for Memphis.u1:p
