Ciudad de México (diablos.com.mx) 28 de mayo. – Los Diablos Rojos a lo largo de su historia han tenido jugadores muy especiales y con alguna característica especial que ha dejado huella en su paso por la Pandilla Escarlata, tal es el caso de quien fuera un segunda base estelar, Ramón Esquer y que para este 2020 nuevamente forma parte del staff de coaches del México.
Ramón Esquer tuvo una trayectoria impecable de 18 años como jugador de Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, defendió siete franelas, pero sin duda con las que brillo intensamente fue con los Bravos de León, Guerreros de Oaxaca y Diablos Rojos del México.
A Ramón en la década de los 90 se le consideraba todo un amuleto, ya que ganó el campeonato de la LMB en 1990 con los Bravos de León, con los Diablos Rojos en 1994, fue pieza clave en la conquista del primer campeonato de los Guerreros de Oaxaca de 1998 y nuevamente con el México se coronó campeón en la temporada del 99, además de ser subcampeón con la Pandilla Roja en las dos primeras temporadas del nuevo milenio.
Ramón Esquer aseguró que extraña ser jugador. "La época de jugador es una época muy gloriosa, pero sabemos que así como empieza algún día tiene que terminar, uno sabe que vienen generaciones día con día superándose, jugando muy fuerte, jugadores con grandes facultades y sabemos que ese día va a terminar, pero lo que hemos hecho o lo que hicimos a lo largo de 18 temporadas en Liga Mexicana lo hicimos con todo el amor, con todo el entusiasmo, con toda la garra de salir siempre adelante y disfrutamos el día a día, la verdad es que estoy feliz, estoy contento con lo que logre, con lo que a lo largo de mi carrera, y la verdad soy feliz con lo que logre hacer”, mencionó.
El expelotero tuvo cuatro campeonatos y de todos tiene gratos recuerdos: "el primero en 1990 bajo el mando del señor Paquín Estrada (QEPD) Dios lo tenga en su santa gloria, el segundo campeonato cuando recién llegue a los Diablos Rojos del México en 1994 bajo el mando del señor Marco Antonio Vázquez, en 1998 también con el Almirante Nelson Barrera también fuimos campeones con Guerreros de Oaxaca y en 1999 al mando de Tim Johnson campeón nuevamente con los Diablos Rojos del México, no sabría decir cual es el que más goce o más disfrute, porque todos en su momento los goce y disfrute al máximo, luchamos y peleamos muy fuerte al lado de todos mis compañeros en cada una de las organizaciones, no me puedo ir por uno en especial, porque los disfrute, los goce, los sufrí, cada uno en su momento y todos esos bellos momentos los tengo en mi corazón”.
Sobre los compañeros que fungieron como paradores en corto y que mejor se acomodó mencionó a Roberto Vizcarra, con quien conquistó el título de 1990 y a José Luis 'Borrego' Sandoval.
De su estancia como jugador con los pingos resaltó que hubo gran camaradería dentro y fuera del terreno de juego y que siempre hubo buena amistad.
Esquer compartió que hay presión por jugar en una organización como los Diablos Rojos, a la que considera “la organización número uno de la Liga Mexicana" por ser la que más campeonatos tiene.
En las 18 temporadas como jugador bateó para .286 de porcentaje y se quedo a solo diez imparables de los 1,500 hits, conectó 225 dobles y 68 triples y 48 cuadrangulares, además anotó 960 carreras e impulsó 561, era un bateador muy disciplinado y recibió 736 bases por bolas a cambio de 649 ponches.
Ahora toda esa experiencia acumulada a través de los años, la transmitirá a los jugadores escarlatas como coach de primera base, y esperamos que tenga esa magia de los años 90 para volver a conquistar un campeonato siendo parte de los Diablos Rojos.
