Ratliff Earns Win, Zuber Save in CL All-Star Game

Four Total Rocks Appear in Annual Mid-Summer Showcase

Frederick, MD - Wilmington Blue Rocks pitchers Tad Ratliff and Tyler Zuber picked up successful decisions in the 2019 Carolina League All Star Game at Frederick's Nymeo Field on Tuesday. Ratliff earned the win while Zuber got the save as the CL North rallied to beat the CL South 8-7.

Frederick, MD - Wilmington Blue Rocks pitchers Tad Ratliff and Tyler Zuber picked up successful decisions in the 2019 Carolina League All Star Game at Frederick's Nymeo Field on Tuesday. Ratliff earned the win while Zuber got the save as the CL North rallied to beat the CL South 8-7.

Ratliff entered the contest in the eighth and worked a one-two-three frame to preserve a 5-5 tie. He fanned one, got a routine fly ball to right and a soft grounder to third. The CL North scored three times in the bottom of the frame to go ahead for good.
Zuber entered in the ninth. He did surrender a walk and a two-run dinger to Corey Julks, but fanned the other three batters he faced.
Blue Crew catcher MJ Melendez was behind the plate for both Wilmington hurlers. He entered the game in the sixth and went 0-for-2. Jackson Kowar pitched a scoreless fourth frame, yielding one hit and fanning one.
Potomac's Nick Banks went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored, Banks was named the Bush's Beans MVP of this year's all-star game.
Wilmington begins the second half with a four-game homestand at Frawley Stadium starting Thursday at 6:35 p.m. Tickets are available online at BlueRocks.com and fans who can't make it to the ballpark can catch all the action with the Voice of the Blue Rocks, Cory Nidoh, on 89.7 WGLS-FM.
