Rocks Announce 2019 Holiday Card Contest Winner

Fourth grader Evilyn Seeney chosen out of over 1,000 entries

The Wilmington Blue Rocks are excited to announce the winner of the 18th Annual Holiday Card Contest. Over 1,000 entries were received, but unfortunately, there could be just one winner. After a tough decision process, Rocky Bluewinkle, Mr. Celery, Rubble and the rest of the Holiday Card Contest Committee decided that the overall winner was Evilyn Seeney, a 4th Grader from Mannington Township School in Mannington, NJ. Evilyn's artwork will be featured on the cover of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Holiday Card. Evilyn will be rewarded with a ceremonial first pitch and 10 tickets to a 2020 Blue Rocks game.

Three men who helped the Wilmington Blue Rocks win their first Mills Cup Championship in two decades this will season will participate in Saturday's Arizona Fall League All-Star Game. Left-handed pitcher Daniel Lynch and outfielder Kyle Isbel have been selected to the AFL West rosters, while Blue Crew skipper Scott Thorman will manage the team. Saturday's game will be broadcast on MLB Network at 8 p.m. and will also be live streamed on MLB.com.

Blue Rocks Release 2020 Schedule

Wilmington's Home Opener Slated for April 16

The 2019 Carolina League champion Wilmington Blue Rocks released the team's 2020 schedule on Monday. The Blue Crew will begin their Mills Cup title defense on the road in Myrtle Beach on Thursday, April 9. After a seven-game road trip to open the season, the Rocks will return to the First State for their home opener against the Salem Red Sox on Thursday, April 16 at Frawley Stadium.

Wilmington Wins First Mills Cup in Two Decades

Rocks Post Second Straight Shutout to Capture CL Crown

For the fifth time in franchise history, but the first time in two decades, the Wilmington Blue Rocks are Mills Cup Champions. The Blue Crew captured the Carolina League crown by beating the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, 2-0, on Saturday at Segra Stadium. The Game Five triumph came courtesy of Wilmington's second straight shutout. The Woodpeckers did not score a run over their final 20 trips to the plate in the series.
