Rocks Announce Game Times for 2020 Home Slate

Schedule Features Four Midweek Matinees

The Wilmington Blue Rocks unveiled their first pitch times for home games during the 2020 season on Thursday. The Rocks will start most Monday-through-Thursday contests at 6:35 p.m. with Frawley Stadium's gates opening at 5:30 p.m. The exceptions are two school kid specials on Wednesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 20, which will both begin at 10:35 a.m.; a camp day game on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:35 a.m.; and a holiday matinee on Labor Day (September 7), which will start at 12:05 p.m.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks announced Wednesday that the organization, in partnership with the Delaware Stadium Corporation and the state of Delaware, has again extended fan safety netting at Frawley Stadium. The new netting will now reach the end of the seating areas down both the right and left field lines.

The Kansas City Royals announced on Friday that former Major League catcher Chris Widger will manage the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2020. Widger becomes the franchise's 17th manager, replacing Scott Thormann, who captained Wilmington to its first Carolina League crown in two decades last season.

Rocks Announce 2019 Holiday Card Contest Winner

Fourth grader Evilyn Seeney chosen out of over 1,000 entries

The Wilmington Blue Rocks are excited to announce the winner of the 18th Annual Holiday Card Contest. Over 1,000 entries were received, but unfortunately, there could be just one winner. After a tough decision process, Rocky Bluewinkle, Mr. Celery, Rubble and the rest of the Holiday Card Contest Committee decided that the overall winner was Evilyn Seeney, a 4th Grader from Mannington Township School in Mannington, NJ. Evilyn's artwork will be featured on the cover of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Holiday Card. Evilyn will be rewarded with a ceremonial first pitch and 10 tickets to a 2020 Blue Rocks game.

Three men who helped the Wilmington Blue Rocks win their first Mills Cup Championship in two decades this will season will participate in Saturday's Arizona Fall League All-Star Game. Left-handed pitcher Daniel Lynch and outfielder Kyle Isbel have been selected to the AFL West rosters, while Blue Crew skipper Scott Thorman will manage the team. Saturday's game will be broadcast on MLB Network at 8 p.m. and will also be live streamed on MLB.com.
