The 21-year-old's 16 steals this season are tied for the most among all Pacific Coast League players entering play on Wednesday, having been successful in all but 18 attempts. Mondesi's .337 batting average with Omaha is also good for seventh in the Pacific Coast League. He was signed by the Royals as a non-drafted free agent on July 27, 2011.<o:p>
The honor is the second Mid-Season All-Star selection for Mondesi, after earning Texas League All-Star honors during the 2015 campaign. The Storm Chasers last season had two Pacific Coast League All-Stars, though only RHP Andrew Edwards was able to participate. Reliever Brooks Pounders was initially announced to the circuit's All-Star squad but did not play due to a promotion to the Major Leagues.<o:p>
