Summary
Altoona's Cam Vieaux threw six shutout innings, and Logan Hill homered and walked three times, as the Curve blanked the Akron RubberDucks, 6-3, Monday night at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.

Turning Point
The Curve (42-36) scored three times on five hits to claim a 3-0 lead in second inning against Sean Brady (5-4). Hill drilled a long homer to left field to start the inning. Tyler Gaffney added a sacrifice fly, and Cole Tucker an RBI single to extend the lead to 3-0.
Mound Presence
Brady suffered his first loss since May 11th. He lasted 5.1 innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on eight hits. He walked a season-high, five hitters. He served up another solo homer to Will Craig in the third. Lefty Matt Whitehouse didn't fare much better, issuing five walks and hitting a pair of batters in his 3.2 innings. The two hurlers combined to walk a season-high, 10 batters. Lefty David Speer recorded a key strikeout in the ninth to strand three Curve runners on base.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks (47-36) trailed 6-0, until rallying in the seventh against Curve reliever Sean Kaselica for three runs. Bobby Bradley belted a two-run double off the center-field fence, and Ka'ai Tom chipped in a sacrifice fly to close the gap to 6-3. Bradley was 2-3, with a triple and double.
Notebook
Vieaux (4-1) was brilliant in his six-inning effort as the Curve starter…He allowed just two harmless hits, one of which was a misjudged fly ball that resulted in Bradley's triple…In Vieaux's first five Double-A starts, the 24-year-old's ERA is 1.41…Closer Matt Eckelman worked a perfect ninth to earn his first Double-A save…The series is even at two games apiece…The RubberDucks turned four double plays…Time of game: 2:45… Attendance: 2,886.
On the Pond
The RubberDucks and Curve will conclude the series and homestand on Tuesday night at 7:05. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM, the WARF iHeart channel, and the TuneIn Radio App.
