INDIANAPOLIS -Mitch Garver, Niko Goodrum and Kennys Vargas smashed solo home runs to send Rochester to a 7-1 win over Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon at Victory Field. Vargas added a three-run homer in the eighth to put the finishing touches on Rochester's 30th win in its last 41 games.

Garver's 15th home run of the season sailed out to left in the first, and a double by Matt Hague followed. With two down, Hague broke early for third but Eppler's throw was wide of Erich Weiss, allowing Hague to score and giving Rochester a 2-0 lead.
Joey Terdoslavich cut Indianapolis' (57-46) deficit in half with a two-out single to right in the home half. Gift Ngoepe, who was beaned to start the frame, scored from second on the play.
Rochester (59-44) quickly got that run back on Goodrum's shot to right which opened the second. The score remained 3-1 until Vargas cranked his sixth dinger of the year on a 3-0 pitch in the sixth.
Vargas' second blast came in the eighth off Indians reliever Edgar Santana.
Right-hander Dillon Gee (3-1) scattered six hits while fanning seven over six innings. Eppler (6-6) matched his counterpart with seven punchouts over six frames but was tagged for four runs (three earned) on six hits. The three home runs he allowed set a new career high for a single outing while pushing his team-high total to 18.
The four home runs given up by Indy matched a season high by the staff, having also done so in a 12-4 loss at Charlotte on June 16.
The Indians and Red Wings conclude their four-game series Thursday night. The Tribe will send right-hander Clay Holmes (7-4, 3.51) to the mound, opposite Red Wings right-hander Kyle Gibson (0-2, 2.92). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
