The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have acquired INF Rob Refsnyder in a trade with the New York Yankees in exchange for 1B Ryan McBroom. The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have acquired INF Rob Refsnyder in a trade with the New York Yankees in exchange for 1B Ryan McBroom. He is scheduled to report to the Bisons.
Refsnyder, 26, has split this season between the Yankees and at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With the RailRiders, the utility infielder has averaged .312 (43-138) with 11 doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI in 38 games. Refsnyder has also posted a .390 on-base percentage, having failed to reach base safely in only four games at Triple-A this season. He has also played 20 games with New York this year, hitting .135 (5-37).

This is the third straight season Refsnyder has split his campaign between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and New York. Originally selected by New York in the 5th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft, he is a career .292 hitter in 286 games at the Triple-A level with 68 doubles, 21 home runs, 121 RBI, 24 stolen bases and a .372 on-base pct. He has primarily played second base, third base and right field during his minor league career.
