Richie Palacios Joins Bulls On MLB Rehab Assignment

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Richie Palacios has joined the Durham Bulls on an MLB Rehab Assignment, and is expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday evening when the Bulls begin their six-game homestand versus the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

Palacios has previously played in 12 games with the Bulls this season across two stints as part of MLB Rehab Assignments, batting .125 (4-32) with three runs and five walks drawn. He began the 2025 campaign on the Injured List with a right ring fracture and played his first stint with Durham between April 15-16. He was then activated by the Rays, playing in one game with Tampa Bay on April 17 while recording three hits in four at-bats, before returning to the Injured List the next day with a right knee sprain.

The 28-year-old returned to the Bulls' roster on June 14, playing in six contests before returning from his MLB Rehab Assignment.

Over four Major League seasons, Palacios has combined for a .237 average (112-473), adding 63 runs, 21 doubles, one triple, 11 homers and 47 RBI between the Cleveland Guardians (2022), St. Louis Cardinals (2023), and Tampa Bay Rays (2023-24). He also appeared in five games with Durham last season on an MLB Rehab Assignment, batting .222 (4-18) with three walks. Palacios was acquired by the Rays in a trade from St. Louis on January 5, 2024, in exchange for right-hander Andrew Kittredge.

Palacios joins fellow Rays outfielder Jonny DeLuca and right-hander Alex Faedo on MLB Rehab Assignment with the Bulls as they begin their six-game homestand on Tuesday evening against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
