JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 7:05 p.m.

Miami Marlins shortstop JT Riddle joins the Jumbo Shrimp on a transfer of a major league rehab assignment from High-A Jupiter. Riddle played in two games for the Hammerheads on Tuesday and Wednesday, going 1-for-6 (.167) with his lone hit being a double Wednesday night against the Palm Beach Cardinals.

Riddle started the season on Miami's disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis. Riddle first made it to the majors last season with Miami, hitting .250 with three homers and 31 RBI in 70 games before his season was cut short due to injury. He was placed on the disabled list on July 25, 2017 with left biceps tendinitis and that ended his season. Riddle underwent surgery last August to repair the torn labrum on his left shoulder.

Riddle starred for Jacksonville in 2015 and 2016, and was a 2016 Southern League Midseason All-Star, hitting .278 with three home runs and 51 RBI in 101 games played. That season he also had a career-best 25 game hitting streak from June 23 to August 6, despite a stint on the disabled list during that time, and in that stretch he hit .370 during the longest hitting streak in the Southern League that season.

Riddle, 26, is a native of Frankfort, Ky., and he was selected by the Marlins in the 13th round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Kentucky, where he was teammates with current Jumbo Shrimp outfielder Kyle Barrett.

Additionally, Jumbo Shrimp right-handed starting pitcher Jeff Brigham has been transferred to Jacksonville's disabled list, retroactive to April 26, with a right oblique strain. Brigham is 3-0 with a 0.60 ERA in three starts for Jacksonville, and was a late scratch from his start last night against the Blue Wahoos.

In a corresponding move, right-handed relief pitcher Zech Lemond has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Lemond was 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA in six games in relief with two saves for the Hammerheads. Lemond is in his first year in the Marlins organization, signed as a free agent.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, plus Riddle and Dan Straily on their rehab assignments and a revised roster is attached.

The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series with Pensacola at 7:05 p.m. Friday, when Jacksonville right-hander Pablo López (0-0) is scheduled to face Blue Wahoos right-hander Keury Mella (2-0). Fans may visit any participating NAPA AutoCare Center to get a FREE general admission ticket (reserved seat upgrade available at the box office) for the game that concludes with NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks. The Jumbo Shrimp wear red "Bold City" jerseys to support the military on Red Shirt Friday, when fans who wear red can save $1 per ticket at the box office or donate the $1 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Friday Night Lites Miller Lite Happy Hour offers $1 12-oz.
