AMARILLO, Texas (June 3, 2019) - Behind three homers and a huge night from Christian Lopes, the RoughRiders won their debut game in Amarillo with an 8-5 victory over the Sod Poodles.
SYNOPSIS
* Lopes crushed the second pitch of the game over the left field fence to build an early lead. Charles Leblanc added a solo shot in the second, and Andretty Cordero crushed a tie-breaking homer in the fifth to put the Riders ahead for good.
* The Riders padded their 6-5 lead in the eighth with RBI singles from Lopes and Eliezer Álvarez .
* Four Riders relievers combined for 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. Locke St. John sealed the victory with a four-out save.

NEWS AND NOTES
* Monday's win broke the Riders out of a first-place tie with Amarillo in the first-half standings. Frisco has a half-game lead on Corpus Christi with 13 games to play in the half.
* Frisco's 14 hits were a new season-high, topping the previous mark of 13.
* All nine Riders batters collected a hit in Monday's contest.
