Riders win back-and-forth battle with Wichita

FRISCO, Texas (August 23, 2026) - In their Sunday finale with Wichita, the Frisco RoughRiders prevailed for a 12-8 win to salvage a game in the series and finish the longest homestand of 2026.

Frisco (25-26, 64-55) took its first lead since Tuesday in the first inning, plating Sebastian Walcott on a sacrifice fly from Dylan Dreiling. Wichita (25-26, 50-68) responded with a three-run home run off the bat of Graham Brown for a 3-1 lead.

After the Wind Surge went ahead 4-1, Frisco scored three in the third with RBI hits from Ian Moller and Max Wagner to tie the game and then took a 6-4 lead in the fourth when Dreiling and Rafe Perich came through with run-scoring hits.

Wichita tied it back up against Janser Lara (5-1) in the sixth, before Theo Hardy homered off Hunter Gregory (2-3) in a three-run bottom half that put the RoughRiders back in front 9-6.

The RoughRiders ballooned the lead up to six runs with three in the eighth and Joey Danielson locked down the 12-8 final in the ninth with his second save.

Notes to Know:

• Hardy’s home run was the first of his Double-A career and just his fourth across 121 career Minor League games.

• Dylan Dreiling extended his season-long hitting streak to 16 games with a three-hit, three-RBI night.

• Frisco went 9-for-22 with runners in scoring position.

After going 5-7 across their two-week homestand, Frisco has 18 games remaining in the regular season and will head to the road for six games against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, beginning Tuesday, August 25.
