Three Wind Surge to Watch
- OF Caden Kendle has remained red hot to start September, with nine hits in the month’s first five games. The UC Irvine product is batting .380 with nine homers across his first 40 career Double-A games.
- RHP Riley Quick (MIN №7) shut down the Riders three weeks ago in Frisco, hurling 4.1 innings at Riders Field. The Alabama product racked up nine strikeouts while surrendering just two hits and one run.
- C Khadim Diaw (MIN №9) missed the series in Frisco due to injury, but enters this week with five multi-hit efforts in his last six games.
Three RoughRiders to Watch
- DH Sebastian Walcott (TEX №1, MLB №9) hit his third leadoff home run in the last two weeks Sunday against Amarillo. Since returning from the injured list, the Bahamas native has eight homers in 32 games for Frisco.
- Last week, LHP Thomas Ireland turned in his first four-inning outing since July of 2025, surrendering just two runs and leading Frisco to a series finale win in a bullpen game.
- 3B Rafe Perich (TEX №19) mauled the Wind Surge in the first series between these two teams, with 10 hits in 17 at-bats, including a home run and seven RBI.
Three Things to Know
- One to Forget: In that series three weeks ago, Wichita raced out to a roaring start and won the first five games against Frisco, becoming the first team to beat the Riders in five straight games to start a series since 2023.
- Slip ‘N Slide: Since winning the series against Frisco, Wichita has gone just 2–10, with those 10 losses coming in succession from Wednesday, August 26 to Saturday, September 5.
- Road Remaining: The RoughRiders will finish out the regular season on the road in this series and then stay out on the road to begin the Texas League South Divisional Series in the playoffs. They will play game one of the best-of-three series away and then travel home for games two and potentially three if necessary.
