RiverDogs Blast Three Homers in 9-6 Loss to GreenJackets

North Augusta, SC – Despite jumping out to a five-run lead, the Charleston RiverDogs allowed eight unanswered runs in their 9-6 loss to the Augusta GreenJackets on Sunday night at SRP Park.

The RiverDogs jumped in front early when Jack Lines lined a two-out RBI double to center to make it 1-0.

Later in the frame, Andreimi Antunez blasted a sky-scaping three-run homer to left to push the lead to 4-0. The longball marked Antunez’s third since joining Charleston.

In the top of the third, the RiverDogs added another when Dean Moss lifted a solo shot to right to extend the lead to five.

After Augusta pushed across one in the bottom of the frame, Lines responded in the top of the fourth by belting a solo shot to right to make it 5-1.

Augusta rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut their deficit to two, before both pitching staffs settled in.

The GreenJackets later tied the game in the seventh after Jacob Jarrell dribbled a two-run double down the right-field line.

With two outs in the eighth, Carter Beck broke the stalemate with a three-run blast to center to cap scoring at 9-6.

With the loss, the RiverDogs fell to 64-50 and 26-22 in the second half, while Augusta moved to 60-52, and 24-22 in the second half. After a day off on Monday, the RiverDogs return home to begin a six-game series with the Hill City Howlers, the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. First pitch for game one on Tuesday is slated for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:50 on the RiverDogs Broadcast Network.

After clinching the Carolina League South first half title, the RiverDogs have secured a spot in the 2026 postseason, presented by Nucor Steel Berkeley. The best-of-three Division Series begins on Tuesday, September 8. Thanks to their first-half division title, the RiverDogs are guaranteed to host Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on September 10 and 11.
