Charleston, SC - For the second consecutive night, the Greenville Drive and Charleston RiverDogs received outstanding pitching efforts, but Friday's contest needed extra innings to decide a winner. The RiverDogs eventually received a walkoff single in the 13th inning for a 2-1 victory.
The 13th inning rally for the RiverDogs (24-23) began with back-to-back singles by Angel Aguilar and Hoy Jun Park. Following a strikeout, Eduardo Navas lined the game-winning single to right field against Pat Goetze (1-1), who was in his third inning of relief for the Drive (29-17).
Despite the loss, the Drive's pitching was nothing short of phenomenal. In his United States debut, 18-year old Bryan Mata allowed just one run over three innings with four strikeouts. Algenis Martinez followed with four hitless, scoreless frames of relief, and Jake Drehoff worked three scoreless innings of his own in his return to the Drive. Goetze had worked two scoreless frames prior to Charleston's rally.

On the other side, Nick Green hurled five scoreless innings for the RiverDogs, and three relievers combined to hold the Drive to one run over the next eight innings, with Adonis Rosa (1-1) holding the Drive hitless for three frames to get the win.
Charleston wasted no time getting started, as Estevan Florial led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run to left-center field.
The Drive tied the game up in the sixth when Steven Reveles laced an RBI single to center to score Isaias Lucena, who reached on a fielder's choice.
Lorenzo Cedrola was the lone Greenville player with two hits on the night.
Game three of the four-game series starts at 6:05 PM on Saturday in Charleston. Left-hander Robby Sexton (0-4, 5.67) takes the ball for the Drive, and the RiverDogs will send right-hander Freicer Perez (1-2, 5.20) to the mound.
