CHARLESTON, S.C. - Baseball and the Fourth of July go and in hand and for the first time in the last three seasons, the Charleston RiverDogs will get to enjoy Independence Day baseball from the friendly confines of Joe Riley Park. The RiverDogs return for a July 4 spectacular to kick off a three-game series against Augusta, all part of a four-day, red, white, and blue celebration at Riley Park.
The Charleston club will host the Augusta GreenJackets, the Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, for a three-game series before Riley Park plays host to the 42nd Annual USA vs Japan Collegiate All-Star series featuring some of the top collegiate players domestically and abroad on Saturday. Fans can purchase the specialty "1776 Package," granting them admission to all four games, including postgame fireworks shows on July 4 and 6, for just $17.76 online at bit.ly/2Kq8DmQ.
Wednesday, July 4, 6:35 p.m: Independence Day Fireworks Super Show: Baseball on July 4 returns to Charleston for the first time since 2015 as the RiverDogs kick off four days celebrating the Stars and Stripes. July 4 will feature an Independence Day Fireworks Super Show presented by WOW! on a night of patriotic spectacle. Gates open at 5 p.m. for one of the most highly anticipated games of the season, all presented by Kirkman Broadcasting and ABC News 4. The RiverDogs will honor the military with specialty red caps designed by New Era, also available for purchase in the team store. MiLB will donate its licensed royalties from the sales of this year's caps to the newly-established MiLB Charities Stars & Stripes Fund. The MiLB Charities Stars & Stripes Fund will contribute the monies raised to local military and veterans' organizations through the Charles K. Murphy Patriot Award.
Thursday, July 5, 7:05 p.m.: Red, White, & Brews Thirsty Thursday: Keep the freedom ringing throughout the week on a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX featuring dollar brews in the Budweiser Ashley View Pub as DJ Natty Heavy spins the hits all night long. Friday, July 6, 7:05 p.m.: Friday Night Fireworks: Charleston celebrates the holiday weekend with the second fireworks show in three days on a patriotic rendition of Home Telecom Friday Fireworks following the RiverDogs' series finale against Augusta. Fans can wear red to receive a buck off their ticket at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Palmetto Military Support Group as part of a Red Shirt Friday.
Saturday, July 7, 6:05 p.m.: 42nd Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series: While the RiverDogs hit the road and head to Columbia, catch some of the top collegiate talent in the U.S. and abroad as the USA Collegiate National Team faces the Japan Collegiate squad at The Joe. The All-Star Series will feature appearances by former Clemson skipper Jack Leggett and former Citadel infielder and current Louisville Coach, Dan McDonnell, who will meet with fans along with players for pregame autographs and batting practice. Gates open at 3 p.m. for viewing of both teams' batting practices.
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years." Tickets to the USA vs Japan All-Star Series featuring the U.S. and Japan Collegiate teams on July 7 at The Joe are also on sale now.
