Robert Dugger Named to All-Star Team

CLINTON, IA (June 12, 2017) - The Clinton LumberKings will be sending an additional all-star to Midland, Michigan for the Midwest League All-Star game on Tuesday June 22. Right handed pitcher Robert Dugger will fill the spot of Beloit Snappers pitcher Dalton Sawyer who has been promoted to triple-A and is no longer with the Snappers.
Dugger, 21, has moved into the LumberKings starting rotation after beginning the year in the bullpen. The Texas, native is currently 2-1 with a 2.37 ERA in 38 innings of work. Since moving into the LumberKings rotation Dugger has not allowed a run over 11.2 IP and is 1-0 as a starter this season. He is in his second professional season and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 18th round of the 2016 MOB Draft out of Texas Tech.
Dugger joins teammates Brandon Miller, Danny Garcia, and Anthony Jimenez as the Clinton representatives for the 2017 Midwest League All-Star Game. The naming of Dugger to the all-star team makes 181 all-stars in Clinton franchise history since the All-Star game was adopted by the Midwest League in 1964. The All-Star break begins on Monday, June 19 with the home run derby starting at 6:05 PM. The All-Star game will be played on Tuesday, June 20 with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 PM.
