The Cardinals catcher sent a game-winning home run over the right field fence at Hammons Field, completing a comeback that began with a three-base error on a pop-up that landed about 60 feet from home plate.

Springfield's Friday night starter is right-hander
Alcantara makes his 15th start for the Cardinals and his second against the RockHounds. His previous outing versus the 'Hounds was April 18, a 7-5 win at Springfield (5.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R/3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K). The 21-year-old native of Azua, Dominican Republic, is rated the Cardinals' #6 prospect by Baseball America and #7 by MLB.com. His season line: 76 IP, 85 H, 29 BB, 64 K, a 1.50 WHIP and .286 opponent average.
Seddon makes his 18th appearance and his first start for the 'Hounds (he also made one spot start for the Nashville Sounds). Overall, the right-hander is 3-2 with two saves, a 4.75 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP and .293 opponent average. His numbers were greatly affected by one start on June 21 at Frisco in which the RoughRiders scored nine runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings. Excluding the Frisco speed bump, Seddon's numbers drop to a 3.61 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and .277 opponent average. One key number to watch in Friday's start: Seddon's ERA in nine games at Security Bank Ballpark is 1.78. In eight games on the road, that number balloons to 7.71.
