Pebbles of Knowledge:
The Blue Rocks offense was shutout for the seventh time this season. This was the first time that the Hillcats held the Rocks to no runs in the 2019 campaign. July proved to be the toughest month for Wilmington as they were held scoreless in four games, two each against Salem and Fayetteville.
Wilmington starting pitcher Austin Cox has been good his last two times out. In the last 13 innings pitched he has allowed just two earned runs. Tonight he worked out of the bullpen and struck out seven batters, marking the second consecutive game that he's struck out at least five batters.
