The Braves then tied the game in the second on an RBI single by Tanner Murphy. Lexington retook the lead in the third with three runs highlighted by a Joe Dudek two RBI double. However, the Braves once again evened the score in the bottom half with three runs, highlighted by Brett Cumberland's (3) two-run home run. Lexington regained the lead, adding one in the fourth before both teams traded runs in the fifth to leave the score at 6-5. Rome's defense and pitching struggled in the sixth as six runs crossed the plate for the Legends, giving them a commanding 12-5 advantage. The Braves mounted a comeback, scoring five runs in the seventh, highlighted by a Cristian Pache two RBI single. It proved to be too little too late as Rome fell by the 12-10 final.
Ofreidy Gomez (1-5) picks up the victory for Lexington while Ian Anderson (2-4) suffers the loss for Rome. Jose Veras (1) picks up the save.
Rome and Lexington face off again Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
