Lexington got on the board in the first inning on an Angelo Castellano RBI single to take the early 1-0 lead.

The Braves then came back strong in the bottom half to score four runs, highlighted by Lucas Herbert's RBI double to take a 4-1 lead. Lexington responded to score two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings but the Braves picked one up in the fourth on an error by John Brontsema to leave the game tied 5-5. The Legends plated two in the ninth to take a late 7-5 lead but Rome wasn't done.
In the bottom of the inning, Yeudi Grullon started the comeback for the Braves with an infield single to lead off the inning. Randy Ventura then singled through the hole in right to put the tying run on first. Marcus Mooney followed using a sac bunt to move the runners over. After an intentional walk to Cristian Pache is when the fireworks started as Lucas Herbert lined a single back up the middle to plate two and tie the game. With still only one out, Brett Cumberland came to the plate and got the job done with a sac fly that plated Pache and gave the Braves the 8-7 victory.
Jon Kennedy (4-0) picks up the victory for Rome while Anthony Bender (0-1) takes the loss for Lexington
Rome will now begin a lengthy eleven game road trip starting in Asheville tomorrow.
