Roster Update: Ponce to Double-A; Diaz activated off DL
ZEBULON, N.C. - The Milwaukee Brewers announced a series of roster transactions today with two affecting the Carolina Mudcats active roster. The moves included the promotion of RHP Cody Ponce from the Mudcats to Double-A Biloxi and the activation of INF Isan Díaz off the Carolina disabled list.

Ponce, 23, pitched to a 3.45 ERA and went 8-8 over 22 starts with the Mudcats before his promotion to Double-A Biloxi. The Cal Poly Pomona product also totaled 94 strikeouts against only 25 walks in 120.0 innings with Carolina. Ponce was a mid-season Carolina League All-Star and was fourth in the Carolina League in earned run average (3.45), third in lowest BB-IBB/9ip ratio and fourth in fewest baserunners/9ip ratio (12.15) at the time of his promotion.
Diaz, 21, last played for the Mudcats on August 9 versus Lynchburg. Diaz has played in 108 games with the Mudcats this season and was batting .225/.339/.374 with 20 doubles, 12 home runs and 52 RBIs before his placement on the disabled list on August 10.
The Mudcats roster is currently at 25 active players with one on the disabled list.
