Looking to bounce back after a tough loss on Tuesday, the Rochester Red Wings (19-16, 64-44) did just that against the Scranton/WB RailRiders (23-10, 60-47) Wednesday, running away with an 8-1 win. The Red Wings offense connected on four homers in the win, tying a season high. 3B Trey Lipscomb went deep for the 19th time this season to extend his career-high, and the trio of RF Leandro Pineda, C Maxwell Romero Jr., and CF Sam Petersen each launched their first Triple-A home runs. Four Rochester pitchers limited the RailRiders to just four hits, led by LHP Jackson Kent with 5.2 solid innings of work.

After two scoreless innings, Rochester broke through in the third as SS Seaver King singled to begin a small rally. 2B Phillip Glasser followed with a walk, sending King to second before Trey Lipscomb lined an RBI single to score King and move Glasser to third, giving the Red Wings a 1-0 lead. 1B Riley Adams kept the inning going with an RBI single, plating Glasser and advancing Lipscomb to second, extending Rochester's advantage to 2-0.

With two outs in the top of the fifth inning, Sam Petersen worked a four-pitch walk. Leandro Pineda then blasted his first Triple-A home run, doubling Rochester's lead to 4-0. In the very next at-bat, Maxwell Romero Jr. followed with his own first Triple-A home run, giving the Red Wings back-to-back home runs and extending the lead to 5-0.

The RailRiders finally broke through in the bottom of the sixth inning as LF Yanquiel Fernández launched a solo home run, trimming Rochester's lead to 5-1.

In the top of the ninth inning, 3B Trey Lipscomb crushed his 19th home run of the season, a 422-foot blast that left the bat at 104.5 mph, extending Rochester's lead to 6-1. After a popout, DH Cayden Wallace drew a walk before Sam Petersen launched his first Triple-A home run, pushing the Red Wings' advantage to 8-1.

Despite a leadoff walk, the seven-run deficit proved too much for the RailRiders, as the next three batters were retired to end the game.

Jackson Kent got the start for Rochester, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing three hits and one run, walking two, and striking out five. RHP Jake Bird took over for Kent and pitched 1.1 innings, allowing one hit while striking out one. RHP Cole Henry followed Bird and pitched 1.0 inning, recording one strikeout. RHP Kyle Nicolas closed out the game with a scoreless 1.0 inning, issuing one walk and striking out one.

The Rochester Red Wings Player of the Game today is southpaw Jackson Kent. The former Arizona Wildcat limited Scranton/WB to one earned on three hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out five and walking a pair. The southpaw now has a team-leading eight wins this season, second-most in the International League through his first 13 Triple-A starts. Those eight wins since his debut on May 23 are tied for the most in Minor League Baseball.

Rochester will play game three of the series against the RailRiders Thursday at 7:05 p.m., as they look to win two in a row and take a 2-1 series lead. Scranton/WB will send highly touted prospect RHP Elmer Rodríguez to the mound for his third career start against the Red Wings.
