Summary
Despite a dramatic late rally to erase a four-run deficit and send the game to extra innings, the Akron RubberDucks fell to Erie 6-5 in ten innings as the SeaWolves completed the sweep Sunday at Canal Park.

Turning Point
After an Akron rally sent the game to extra innings, the SeaWolves scored the winning run in the top of the tenth when Sergio Alcántara provided a two-out single to score Cole Peterson, who began the inning as the placed runner at second.
Mound Presence
Sam Hentges got the start for the RubberDucks Sunday. He sent Erie down in order in the first but ran allowed the SeaWolves to put up a three-spot in the third. An error, a walk and back-to-back singles loaded the bases and plated one before Cam Gibson brought two more home with a line drive single to left. He got through the next two innings unscathed but allowed Erie some insurance runs in the fifth on a two-run homer from Josh Lester. Rob Kaminsky (2.2 innings) and Kyle Nelson (1.0 IP) all had scoreless appearances out of the bullpen, while Jared Robinson pitched a scoreless ninth before allowing an RBI single to Sergio Alcantara that scored the runner placed on second base to start the tenth.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks offense was largely stifled by Erie starter Spenser Watkins, posting just one run on four hits against the right-hander. Connor Marabell was the source of the lone blemish, blasting a solo home run to right-center in the fourth. Once Erie turned to the bullpen, Akron finally got things in motion. In the eighth, Li-Jen Chu drew a bases loaded walk to bring home a run and Alex Call singled up the middle with two outs to narrow the Erie lead to 5-4. The Ducks completed the rally in the ninth, after Alexis Pantoja doubled then scored on a sharply hit ground ball from Mitch Longo that caromed off the Erie second baseman and into right field. The RubberDucks would load the bases later in the inning, but Erie escaped the jam and sent the game to extras. After the SeaWolves scored in the top of the tenth, the RubberDucks would be unable to replicate the feat and went down in order to end the game.
