Sacramento completes comeback, beat Isotopes 7-5

Albuquerque, NM - The Sacramento River Cats (20-33) found themselves trailing 5-2 after just three innings, but clawed their way back to defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes (28-26) 7-5 Friday night at Isotopes Park.

The top of the lineup - Wynton Bernard, Jae-Gyun Hwang, and Ryder Jones - helped to keep the River Cats in the game, combining to go 6-for-12 with four runs scored and four RBI. Hwang hit his fifth home run of the season while driving in three, his team-leading 31^st, 32^nd, and 33^rd RBI of the year.
It was the bottom of the lineup that pushed the River Cats over the edge though, as Chris Shaw tied things up with a two-out RBI single in the eighth. Juan Ciriaco scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning on a perfectly executed squeeze play by pinch-hitter Juniel Querecuto.
Tomorrow, Sacramento's Chris Stratton (0-3, 6.88) looks to get his first win of the season as he faces Albuquerque's Ryan Carpenter (2-4, 5.06). First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. (PT) and the game can be heard live online at rivercats.com and on the air on ESPN 1320 AM.

Shaw: In eight games with the River Cats, Chris Shaw is hitting .303 with five doubles, a home run, and seven runs driven in.

Bernard: Center fielder Wynton Bernard was 2-for-4 in tonight's game, giving him five hits in this series…in his last five games, Bernard is 6-for-15 (.400) with three runs scored and a stolen base.
Triple-A Debut: Shortstop John Polonius made his Triple-A debut tonight…went 0-for-3 but picked up his first Triple-A RBI and scored his first run of the season.  
One-Run Contests: The River Cats improved to 8-10 in one-run games…their 10 losses in such contests are tied for the most in the PCL and their 18 total one-run games are the second most in the league (Iowa Cubs, 22 one-run games).
