Sacramento offense a no-show in loss to Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, OK - The Sacramento River Cats (15-23) offense was shut down for a second straight game as they fell 5-2 to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (20-17). 

Despite matching the Dodgers' six hits, Sacramento went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. The River Cats pushed one run across in the first frame but from there on, it was all Oklahoma City. Sacramento starter Dan Slania allowed all five runs in his 5.2 innings, two of which came by way of solo home runs and tied a season-high with eight strikeouts.
Carlos Moncrief knocked in the first run of the game with two outs in the first inning and Chris Marrero drove in the other in the eighth. Austin Slater collected two of the team's six hits on the night and scored hit team-leading 19^th run.  
The River Cats will look to turn things around tomorrow night as they send right-hander Tyler Beede (2-2, 3.68) to the hill for his fourth road start of the year. He will face off against Dodgers' right-hander Justin Masterson (3-1, 1.91) who owns the fifth-best ERA in the PCL. First pitch is set for 5:05 pm (PT) and the game can be heard live online at rivercats.com and starting at 6 p.m. on the air on 105.5 FM.
Postgame Notes
On a roll: Left fielder Austin Slater has been locked in at the plate this month, hitting .360 (18-for-50) with nine RBI and 12 runs scored…he now has 12 of the team's 61 hits in the past 11 games and eight of their 39 RBI.  
Slania: Right-hander Dan Slania picked up his fifth loss tonight, four of which have come on the road…he yielded two home runs and has allowed eight of the team's 26 homers this season…has given up a league-leading five sacrifice flies.  
Swing and a miss: The River Cats struck out 12 times tonight and have now struck out 29 times the first two games of this series…Oklahoma City's pitching staff leads the PCL with 374 strikeouts while Sacramento's offense has struck out the third most times (320).
Calixte: Centerfielder Orlando Calixte was forced to exit the game in the fifth inning after colliding with the wall attempting to make a catch…Calixte was replaced by Wynton Bernard who went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
