The El Paso Chihuahuas led by three runs at Tuesday's seventh inning stretch but lost to the Sacramento River Cats 7-6 in 12 innings. El Paso is now 5-3 in extra-inning games this season. The defeat snapped El Paso's four-game winning streak.

El Paso turned double plays on the infield to end the bottom of the ninth and the bottom of the 11^th but Sacramento's Ryan Lollis started the bottom of the 12^th with a double. He advanced to third base on a ground out and jogged home one batter later when Trevor Brown lined a single past diving third baseman Ryan Schimpf.
It was the second extra-inning game of the road trip, as the Chihuahuas won in 10 innings on July 15^th at Reno. Christian Villanueva went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and a walk on Tuesday. Chase d'Arnaud went 3-for-6 Tuesday and is 10-for-24 since being outrighted from San Diego.
El Paso's offense has nine or more hits in five consecutive games.
