Salem Splits Opening Series with Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Delaware (April 7, 2019) - Enmanuel de Jesus struck out five in his 2019 debut Sunday but the Salem Red Sox were edged by the Wilmington Blue Rocks 2-1 Sunday to end the series at a 2-2 record. 

How it Happened
* Lefty Enmanuel de Jesus threw 5.2 innings in his debut, holding a scoreless game through five innings. He struck out five Blue Rocks before issuing a single and an intentional walk and exiting the game. Dominic LoBrutto inheirited both runners and surrendered a double to Nick Pratto, driving in both runners and giving Wilmington a 2-0 lead in the 6th.
* The Sox lone run came across after Isaias Lucena reached on a single and scored on a wild pitch.

* With a single in the 8th, Jarren Duran extended his hit streak to four games.
