Dear JetHawk Nation,
I want to write to each of you and provide you an update on your Lancaster JetHawks, and the discussion regarding the future of baseball in the Antelope Valley.
As many of you are aware, there have been widely published reports that some Minor League Baseball teams could be eliminated after the current PBA agreement with Major League Baseball expires in September of 2020. I want you to know that our organization has not taken this news lightly, and we have been working on a number of fronts to try and preserve the future of baseball locally.
Our staff have had positive and encouraging meetings with a number of our local elected officials, City officials, business partners and ticket holders, as well as our great fans and booster club. The question everyone always ask me is “How can we help?”, and the time has come where we need your support as we fight together to Save Our JetHawks!
Time is critical, we need your help and we need your great support now more than ever before. It is time for JetHawks fans across the world to stand up and be counted.
I am asking each of you to write an email to Congressman Kevin McCarthy, letting the Congressman know how much you love, support, and want to keep the JetHawks in the AV. We need your memories, your stories, and your passion for the JetHawks to show him why he needs to fight to keep MiLB in the AV. We have also added a way for our young fans to get involved, with coloring pages they can color and send to the Congressman. Send your stories and photos to [email protected] to have your voice heard.
For two decades, the JetHawks have been a source of pride, memories and enjoyment here in this community, so let’s stand up, stand together, and let’s “Save the JetHawks” together.
Stay safe during this very trying time, and when it’s over I will be so excited to see each of you, our friends, at The Hangar. Thanks for your support, let’s engage and fight like we know each of you can. It’s the bottom of the 9th inning, let’s close this out with a W.
