Sea Dogs Holding *The Sandlot* 25th Anniversary Game

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the classic baseball movie "The Sandlot" on Sunday, August 5th when the Sea Dogs host the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 1:00 PM.

As part of the festivities, the Sea Dogs will be opening the ballpark early to allow fans to play catch on the field prior to the game. The play catch event will go from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. Fans will need to bring their own balls and gloves. 
Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Sandlot character; Scotty Smalls, Squints, Benny the Jet, "Ham" Porter, etc. and participate in a pre-game parade. Two lucky fans in costume will be chosen to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
The Sea Dogs will also be holding an Equipment Drive. Fans are asked to bring in new or used baseball equipment that will be donated to under underprivileged children, giving all kids the opportunity to play baseball in sandlots around the world.
The day will feature The Sandlot video and audio clips throughout the game. There will also be The Sandlot trivia throughout the games where fans will have the opportunity to win 25th Anniversary edition of The Sandlot.

Tickets for the game are available and can be purchased by phone at 207-879-9500, online at www.seadogs.com, and at the Hadlock Field ticket office. Advance tickets range in price between $9.00 and $12.00 for adults and $6.00 to $11.00 for kids (16 and under) and seniors (62 and over).
