The Harrisburg Senators jumped out to an early lead on Sunday evening at The Diamond but couldn’t hold off the Richmond Flying Squirrels, falling 8-3 in the series finale.
The Senators showed patience at the plate in the top of the first, drawing four consecutive walks to plate two runs. Phillip Glasser singled to spark the rally, and both Branden Boissiere and Kevin Made drew bases-loaded walks to give Harrisburg a 2-0 advantage. In the second, Seaver King’s speed created another run as he stole second, took third on a throwing error, and scored on Cayden Wallace’s RBI single to make it 3-1.
Richmond chipped away quickly. Bo Davidson’s lead off home run in the first got the Squirrels on the board, and Aeverson Arteaga tied the game in the second with a two-run shot. A sacrifice fly in the fourth gave Richmond a 4-3 lead they would never relinquish.
Harrisburg’s offense struggled after the second inning, managing just two hits over the final seven frames. Meanwhile, Richmond tacked on four insurance runs in the seventh, highlighted by Adrián Sugastey’s two-run triple.
