The Senators were no-hit in the opener of Saturday’s doubleheader, falling 3-0 to Binghamton. Riley Cornelio allowed just two earned runs over five innings, but Chris Suero’s two-run homer in the second put the Rumble Ponies ahead for good. Harrisburg struck out 13 times and managed only three baserunners in the loss.
Senators Split Doubleheader with 7-5 Win in Nightcap
The Harrisburg Senators bounced back in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader, defeating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 7-5 to split the twin bill.
The Senators exploded for five runs in the second inning, highlighted by Johnathon Thomas’ grand slam—his second homer of the season. Joe Naranjo added an RBI single in the inning. After Binghamton rallied to tie the game 5-5 in the fifth, Viandel Peña delivered the decisive blow with a two-run homer in the seventh.
Seaver King reached base three times and scored twice, while Peña drove in two and Thomas knocked in four. Samuel Vasquez earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
The Senators improved to 48-52 on the season and will wrap up the series Sunday in Binghamton.
